Installation Process

Firenfireplaces use FlamenGrate Gas Safe No.12562 since 1991 Hetas No. 11819. They will take full responsibility for the installation of gas and solid fuel appliances for you. We only use installers who are themselves Registered operatives. If you wish to organise the fitting yourself may we remind you that legislation requires that all appliances must be fitted and serviced by a Registered person.
We would hope that fitting your chosen fire will be straight forward, but this cannot always be assured. Depending upon the age of your house and the types of chimney and hearth, some building work may be necessary to accommodate certain fires.

However, if you can provide us with clear information we may we may be able to reassure you without recourse to a survey. We do offer a free survey to give you an indication that your chosen fire is appropriate for your chimney or flue type. This does not 100% ensure that building work will not be needed, because with a free survey we will not be able to remove any existing fire to ascertain exactly what is behind it.
If you prefer, not to be left with any risk, we will, for a small charge, (In some cases O.A.P. will be exempt from this charge) remove the existing fire, examine what's behind it and then reconnect the fire. We will then advise whether any alterations are needed and price it accordingly. The survey cost is refundable as long as you purchase and have the fire installed by Firesnfireplaces. Survey costs are payable in advance.
Reconnection of a gas fire is only allowed if an existing installation is safe. If for some reason it is not safe, Registered fitters are legally required to issue warning notices and cut off the gas supply to the fire.Firenfireplaces cannot accept liability if this is found to be necessary.
